Charles Vaile Corns was born at Benton, Elkhart County, Indiana, Nov. 28, 1877 and died Jan. 4, 1900, at Norcatur, Kansas.
He attended common school and became a teacher for awhile before he became a doctor.
By economy he was enabled to attend the Eclectic Medical College at Cincinnati, Ohio, from whence the graduated. He went into the practice of medicine at a county village by the name of Wilmont in Noble County, he also practiced for a time in his native town, however his spirit yearned for something better, hence he looked to Kansas as the field best adapted to a young doctor, and located at Oronoque in 1886, where he remained until four years ago, when he removed to Norcatur..
After having practiced for several years, he took a post-graduate course at the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Kansas City, Missouri, to better fit him in his chosen profession.
Charles Corns and Miss Castilltie LeCount, of Elkhart County, Indiana, were married March 14, 1891. To his union three children were born, Madge, Vaile and Leslie.
From a biography printed in the Norcatur newspaper, written by L. H. Thompson, who knew him from infancy until death.
